Desing of a website must also be carefully chosen. A website that is targeted for genral public should not be with a colourful and contrast design. The general thumb rule is Kids related site should have lots of colours, teen related site should look sleek and with lots of graphics and a general website should be simple, light coloured and professional. Tools of the Trade

The softwares that you are going to use to build your website is very important. If you are not a programmer or coder you can go for a WYSIWYG editor. These editors lets you design a website with ease and they often come with pre defined templates. The downside of using these editors are that they include a lot of unnecessary codes which slow down the page render time. Some of the best WYSIWYG editors are Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Frontpage etc. I personally recommend Macromedia Dreamweaver reason being it is easy and fast to use. Again the tools choice varies among webmasters.
