We will see what opertunities it provides for Graphic Designers. To meet the needs of the internet a good Graphic designers should be efficient in standard softwares like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia Flash, 3D Studio Max etc. What industry demands is quality and creativity and it comes only with experience. If you are still new or are just getting started I recommend you visit websites like Cool Jeba, Good-Tutorials, Pixel2Life, Tutorialized etc. Here you can find many tutorials and walkthrough that will help you keep your first step into the amazing world of graphic Designing.

Graphic Designers have demand any time of day, what is required from them is just creativity. To last in this business you need to maintain a good portfolio that should grow with time. Every work you do for your coustomers should go into your portfolio. Initially you need to find work if you are really good into it then work will find you. This will be the time when you can make those BIG bucks.
