What is mGinger?
mGinger is a marketing company that gets paid by the advertisers to send mobile ads in to it’s publishers mobile. It also shares a percentage of this revenue with it’s publishers. A very unique concept in India, where the mobile phones sells faster than hot cakes. With unbelievable penetration of mobile phones, it was high time for any company to use mobile phones as an advertising media.
Are they real ?
The way mGinger is progressing it looks they are for real. Here users have nothing to loose. A member of mGinger doesn’t have to share any credit card, or debit card information. But they do collect your private informations like, your mobile number and your residence address. The main concept behind mGinger is to send advertisements to its users with their permission. They could have always gone through illegal channels to get our mobile numbers. If you think your mobile number is not with these spammers beware!!! For your information, your number is worth 1 paise in the market. Yes, these spammers collect your mobile number and sell it to other advertisers who then spam there users. If you would have ever got a call from a company that wants to sell it’s insurance to you, then you can confirm that your number is already in that database! With this example I can say yes mGinger is for real. mGinger has also been on news.
How it works? By now you would have got a fare idea on how it works. The procedure is simple. Once you have signed up with mGinger you have to register your mobile number, to which a confirmation code will be sent. You have enter this code into your mGinger profile. Once that is done your mobile phone will be registered. You can now select your ad preference, once that is done you can set the frequency of receiving the ad highest being 10 ads per day.
- You get 20 paise per ad.
- A person referred by you when receives an ad you get 10 paise (First level referral)
- If that person refers another member to mGinger and and that member gets an ad you get 5 paise (second level referral)
- You get your check as soon you make Rs 300.
How much can I make ?
Can i get rich by referring members and reading advertisements? Well the answer is no, I am not saying that mGinger said so. Lets do some maths.. you get paid 20 paise per ads, per day you can get maximum 10 ads so per day you make Rs2. If you have made lots of referrals your revenue may change. Let us consider, you make Rs2 per day so it will take you 150 days (5 months) to get your check worth Rs 300. To earn quicker you really need a big referral tree under you. So you can see you can’t make a fortune using mGinger. But you can surely pay your phone bills once a while. Another problem that mGinger is currently facing is the lack of advertisers. Since this concept is new, few advertisers are trying our mGinger. Once the Advertisers get the hang of it these numbers can change.
Future of mGinger?
Can mGinger survive the cut throat competition of the Advertising world? is probably the next big question. As far as I can see the concept is new, unique and fresh. They have to sell their concepts to advertisers to the survive in this Industry. But they have done there homework by getting publishers. Okies.. to add more ‘masala’ to this article. mGinger sound wise than most other people in the market, I mean they know how to move with people by making them SPAM themselves rather than spammed by advertisers!
Take this, you receive SPAM from unknown person… what do you do.. you know he is ain’t you buddy/contact for sure and you select “Report Spam” or just delete them and some people goto extent of checking them out (and these people rely on this!). While on the other hand, you get an email, scrap, im’s, community posts (Orkut Community) and you know for sure its from people whom you have been moving around lately and you are sure to check them up!
Now in both ways, which sounds as an efficient marketing tactics? The first or second ? I would agree with second! So when companies say they don’t spam by getting out database from spam managers its equivalent to saying that “hey! how about spamming yourself and your buddies.. save your self some pennies!”
The concept!! Wholy crap!! I am not against them.. its just the concept is way like begging! Beggers move around the streets and even they get paid better than us ? Not in paisa.. (i mean who has paisa to pay us these days?), but in Re. or Rs’s!
So its like you gotta beg your friends to join them under you so you can generate good income! And don’t you think mGinger again is practicing some cheap technique which others haven’t still tried and soon this will be classified as a spam as well!
I am more happy than Call Spam, I receive about 1 or 2 per day and around a couple a week, but after mGinger came into the market here is the scenerio:
10+ Scraps (Orkut)
20+ E-Mails
15+ IM’s (Yahoo!/Google Talk/MSN)
100′s+ Communities (Orkut, Forums, Groups)
So considering the fact the amount of SPAM produced by mGinger just out numbers other techniques, you can be sure how far their marketing technique well reached among people!
Again, I do like the concept of mGinger but cheap methods of marketing aren’t the only way to attract members! They explain they never bought database of users like what others do (10 paise per members), but don’t you think they sell your details even better to their advertisers?
Well, the advertisers looks in to your preferences, your topics and then chooses to send ads to particular set of people and mGinger is paid!
Well, well.. one can continue to talk… as long as ….space is…! I am just holding up here! Its up to you.. “SPAM Other or SPAM Yourself!”
