Bajaj Pulsar 200cc

Bajaj Auto, the pioneer in performance biking has further extended the portfolio with the launch of the new 200 cc ‘Pulsar’ DTS-i in New Delhi today. The latest offering has set new benchmarks in technology, performance, and styling to address the needs of a growing segment of pro-bikers.

The new Pulsar has many firsts to its credit. It comes equipped with an Oil cooler, which helps control engine oil temperatures at sustained high speeds and rpms, thus ensuring more stable engine oil viscosity. The 200cc DTS-i engine generates 18 Ps of raw pulsating power to provide riding excitement to performance hungry bikers. This makes the Pulsar 200 the most sporty and stylish powerhouse on two wheels to pace the Indian roads.

Bajaj Pulsar 200 cc

It’s also the first bike in India to feature both front and rear tubeless tyres, which besides offering superior stability are safer than conventional tube types and in sync with the offerings abroad for similar applications. The rear tyre is the broadest in its category to ensure better road grip and stability.

The new digital console is an advanced version of the latest Pulsar family. Apart from the Digital Odometer, Digital Speedo Meter, Digital Fuel Gauge and two Digital Trip Meters, the console on the 200 cc Pulsar DTS-i has indicators for Air filter condition, Engine temperature, Battery voltage and Oil level, all of which contribute to enhancing rider info for trouble-free riding. Another first is the use of split seats for styling and comfort. The split grab rail perfectly compliments the new rear chiseled looks. It is also the first Indian bike to have electric start as the sole means of engine cranking, dispensing with the kick lever.

Speaking on the launch Mr. S.Sridhar, VP (Sales & Marketing-2 wh), Bajaj Auto Ltd said, “This launch is in line with our strategy of enhancing our product portfolio to offer riding excitement to pro-bikers. Our entire focus and effort is to deliver outstanding technology and performance. The new Pulsar has now raised the bar in the motorcycle industry with superior technology and features such as the engine oil cooler, digital console etc.”

He added, “We are already market leaders by far in the performance segment and launch of Pulsar 200 DTS-i would further reinforce our position in this important segment. The bike joins the immensely popular 150 cc and the 180cc Pulsar DTS-i to extend the Pulsar DTS-i range across a range of price and performance points. ”

The bike would be available at exclusive Probiking showrooms at select locations across the country. Performance biking now also comes at an attractive price of Rs.65,497 ex showroom, New Delhi.

I had brought the original bajaj pulsar 150cc when it had just launched and I have been riding it ever since…however I have not been too happy with the purchase…From day 1 the gears of the bike were slipping (1st to neutral)….and this caused many accidents especially when it happened during turns…(I heard later batches of the bajaj bike solved this problem) but it is was a waste of my money.

The other problems included the bike stopping every day for abt 5 mins for no understandable reason and then starting on its own again…the bike parts got extremely corroded (I cant even tune the engine idle anymore because Its stuck due to rust)…There have been many more problems…but im hoping that this new bike will be a better purchase for riders.

  8. Bajaj pulsar looks great and attractive but it is of same cost closer to hero honda Karizma premium.but the milage when compared to karizma , pulsar is great.its model good but resembles ninja bike at back look if kept side by side.but the newer model is greater in craze and attraction and hass less weight when compared to pulsar old model.

  9. my 200cc pulsar giving 45kmpl.i purchased the bike on 11-may-2007, i dont have any problem in my bike

    • Kaushik /

Ur bike is giving less mileage. My bike is giving a mileage of 55 kmpl and i give a routine check at the local service station. Check or change ur carborator with the newer models if the spare part is available at ur place..it will increase ur mileage..

  12. sameer /

coollest looking bike around but lets see how much it will trouble its owners just as the early models did……….

  13. dushyant /

200 CC looks amazing ,wonderful but company had to work on mileage ^& reduce its price

  14. Hello Dushyant,
When the power of bike increases the mileage decreases. It is important to know that. For mileage look for bikes will lower cc like discover etc.

You can’t expect the best of both world. Yes they should work on the price of this bike. It is a bit costly!!

If u buy a second hand bike then u might face oil leakage problem.. Bajaj are selling thousands of bikes every day across the country.. No one gets the oil leakage problem and u’ll b the lucky winner if u get the oil leakage problem.. And regarding the kick lever i want to say that all the cars across the world does not have kick lever so how do they get start every day.. Do u have any car with kick lever.. If so then i m interested to buy it…..

Keep your eyes open as Bajaj is going to launch Pulsar 300 cc Bike in this year!!

Get ready!! It may arrive by mid of this year.

  35. Hi ppl,
I bought my P200 2 months back, there’s been no problem at all except last week when i touched around 110(too easily.. i just love the pick-up of this bike) the exhaust note is louder(which is understandable), i never rode any bike on a highway before getting mine n the stability of this bike gave me enough confidence to bend this one on turns on speeds i never even thought of. Pulsar haters.. go get a life.
    PULSAR 200 rulzzz…

    hello friends,
let me tell you about Pulsar 200CC. Me nad my roomies love long drives and I bought this mean machine 2 months back n the 1st trip was NOIDA-Jaipur-Pushkar-Ajmer-NOIDA totaling to 958 Kms.(home to home). We covered this awesome journey on 2 such mean machines (PULSAR 200CC) in just 48 hours. We covered each and every place that was worth visiting in these locations and the trip was fantastic. Talking about this mean machine, it has a mind-blowing power-pickup with unexplainable ride control. we achieved a top-speed of 125Km/hr.and that too at 6000rpm. which was really unbelievable. Regarding engine, this Oil-cooled wolf has really supported us and never let us down during the whole trip. I would suggest each and every pro-biker and all those long drive lovers to opt for this mean machine and its worth of money… It also gave a good average of 40km/hr.which was really unbelievable with all the power and pickup that it delivered against the fuel it consumed. I Vote “7-STAR” to this “Mean Machine-PULSAR 200CC”.

Drive Fast, Drive Safe with a Helmet
    Cheers.!!!
